A Painting for Christmas in Memory of a dear friend

Yes, It’s finally here!  Christmas time is everywhere, whether you like it or not.  I have a wonderful family to share this time with, along with great friends who have become our second family.  I don’t take for granted the blessing I have. I do try to nurture those relationships and make them as precious, as I do, myself.  Merry Christmas!

Last February, we were fortunate to have my cousins and their dog over for “a long winters nap”.  We enjoyed each others company, we laughed a lot and I was able to un-train their Dog IZZY. Isabella, was one of the best trained and well behaved dogs we’ve ever had to our house. My two dogs were not!  Every time the dogs would go outside, on their way back in, they would get a treat.  Izzy caught on to that really fast and wanted to go out a lot!  When she was outside, she didn’t have to work any job, obey any commands, or even chase a rabbit to get her treat.  She just got one. Treat after treat after treat!!! All the dogs put on weight that month. So did I! But, by the end of their stay. I had caught on to some of the good training rules and commands, that were suppose to be enforced.  I grew to love this sweet dog very much.  Last month, our hearts were saddened. While my cousins  were down at their Tennessee homestead. Izzy got into mouse poison.  It didn’t take long for her to die, just a matter of hours.  I tell you this, only because we need to realize the dangers of these kinds of poisons. They will kill mice and anything else that eats it:  Like your best friend (dog/cat) or a young child.  Please be careful this Christmas season and May your home be filled with happy, healthy faces.

I’m getting off my soap box now.
